Carrie has worked in public accounting since 2002 when her job was as a receptionist and tax preparer for Paul Abbott & Associates. Carrie joined Paul in practice in 2015 as Abbott Huffman CPAs. Now, as the owner of Huffman Tax and Accounting LLC, she has truly “worked her way up from the mailroom”.

Carrie has extensive experience working with the owners and accounting staff of closely-held businesses to accomplish their tax and accounting goals. Carrie worked at Hoffman, Stewart & Schmidt, PC, a mid-sized regional accounting firm located in Lake Oswego. She was there for nine years and ended her career at the firm as Tax Manager.

Carrie graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science in Planning and Public Policy. She later attended Portland State University for her post-Bacc Accounting Certificate.

Bringing over 20 years of experience in public accounting, Chad joined Huffman Tax & Accounting in 2022. Previously, Chad was a Tax Director at a mid-sized, regional accounting firm in Lake Oswego, where he worked for 18 years. His expertise includes providing tax services for individuals, estates and trusts, and a wide variety of closely-held companies in the construction, real estate, and service industries. He also specializes in multi-state and local tax issues affecting individuals and businesses.

Trang Truong is an Enrolled Agent and a Licensed Tax Consultant who manages payroll, as well as doing bookkeeping and tax prep. Trang received her first bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management from Viet Nam, and received her second bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Portland State University in 2016. She has been working in our office since 2014. When not working with numbers, Trang loves to spend time with her two little girls, cook, listen to her favorite songs, and clean around the house.

Kate is an Enrolled Agent who has 20 years of experience in public accounting with the majority of her work being in individual taxes along with estates and trusts. Kate joined Huffman Tax and Accounting, LLC after working the past 14 years at mid-sized, regional firm Hoffman, Stewart & Schmidt, P.C. in Lake Oswego. Kate’s Bachelor of Science in Accounting was earned at Linfield College.

Kate enjoys providing quality accounting services along with good customer service to her clients. “Growing up working in my family’s pharmacy, my dad was a stickler for customer service and I find that even today I enjoy and take pride in providing very good customer service.”

When not in the office Kate can be found on the lanes bowling at a tournament or league. She also finds plenty of time to spend with family and playing with cats, Ceasar and Gizmo, and Scout who they referred to as “The Dog”.

Megan Xaybanha is a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Technology and Analytics. She graduated summa cum laude and received the School of Business Honors designation for her academic excellence and leadership. Megan is passionate about helping small businesses and underserved communities achieve their financial goals and improve their economic well-being. She is currently studying for the CPA exam and hopes to become a certified public accountant in the near future. In her spare time, Megan enjoys watching game shows and spending quality time with her family.

Tenacity is a Lewis & Clark College alum with a BA in French Language. When they aren’t answering the phones or typing up emails at HTA’s front desk they are likely playing roller derby with the Rose City Rollers. They also love the Oregon outdoors and spending time with their cats.
